We promote healthy diet, exercise and lifestyle practices among Ghanaians using the media, social gathering like schools, churches, parties etc

In short we‘re trying to inform Ghanaians that,  of the many diseases and issues affecting our human bodies, there are some we can easily prevent by Eating Well and Living Well.

This year we took a challenge upon ourselves to promote drinking of water among children. With the help of the Ministry of Health, Choice FM, the Regenerative Health and Nutrition Unit, Privada Mineral water and Colortech, the project WATER IS LIFE  ‘Promoting drinking of water among children’ was launched at the Bethany Methodist Basic School in Dzorwulu on WORLD WATER DAY. Other schools in the community which also participated included Joyful home Academy, King of Kings Int. Sch, Abelemkpe Community Sch, Vichans Sch, Dzorwulu Pri/JHS among others.

The minister of Health Joseph Yieleh Chireh, in a speech read on his behalf by Mr. Kofi Edusie of the Regenerative Health and Nutrition programme called on parents to encourage their children to drink adequate amounts of water every day to prevent dehydration. We need to take dehydration more seriously and drinking adequate water is one of such rules in the manual of maintaining a healthy life.

Hon. Yieleh Chireh called on the heads of various institutions to ensure that children entrusted into their care are provided with portable water to prevent cholera and other communicable diseases. He called on the public to exercise regularly and eat more fruits and vegetables as part of effort to promote other regenerative health and nutrition programmes.

In short Food Gallery Team; advices that, Dehydration occurs when intake of water and other fluids is less than the body needs. Infants and children who have a high body water content and high water requirement get dehydrated very quickly. A strong odour to your urine, along with a yellow or amber colour indicates that you may be dehydrated. The are progressive: thirst, tiredness, weakness, followed by sunken eyes and finally death. The initial and obvious symptom of dehydration is thirst, then dry mouth, dry skin, tiredness, headaches. This is followed by increased body temperature and breathing rate. The next symptom is dizziness, increased weakness and difficulty in breathing. This is followed by poor blood circulation, failing kidneys, delirium and eventually death.

SINCE THE BRAIN IS ABOUT 80%WATER, DEHYDRATION WOULD AFFECT THE LEARNING ABILITY OF A CHILD SO LET US ENCOURAGE CHILDREN TO DRINK ENOUGH WATER DAILY

We will also appeal to the Government of Ghana to add a sachet of portable water to the school feeding programme.
